Rogue Leveling
Hey, MikemanX here,
Are you searching for the best way to level a rogue? If you’re looking for the best rogue leveling guide, I’ve done the research and basically wrote down here the simplest way for you to go about leveling your rogue from 1-80.
The build I’m about to reveal to you is a combat rogue spec, and as good as it is, it’s still nowhere near as good as a complete rogue leveling guide. I have used such a guide to help me level my rogue and I’d recommend it to anyone who hates leveling and wants to speed their way through to level 80 ASAP.

Now if you want to level optimally, the best talent spec is a combat rogue spec. Distribute your points accordingly:
Combat Talent Tree
Improved Sinister Strike 2/2
Dual Wield Specialization 5/5
Improved Slice and Dice 2/2
Precision 5/5
Endurance 2/2
Improved Sprint 2/2
Aggression 5/5
Blade Flurry 1/1
Sword Specialization 5/5
Weapon Expertise 2/2
Blade Twisting 2/2
Vitality 3/3
Adrenaline Rush 1/1
Combat Potency 5/5
Surprise Attacks 1/1
Savage Combat 2/2
Prey on the Weak 5/5
Killing Spree 1/1
Subtlety Talent Tree
Relentless Strikes 5/5
Opportunity 2/2
Camouflage 3/3
Serrated Blades 3/3
Assassination Talent Tree
Malice 5/5
Blood Spatter 2/2
Now that you’ve got the point distribution map, the only thing left is knowing what kind of attack rotation you’re going to be using while leveling up your rogue. Thankfully with the rogue, a very basic attack sequence holds strong until the very late game:
Open with: Backstab/Garrote -> Use Slice and Dice -> Use Sinister Strike 1-5x -> Finish with Eviscerate/Rupture
This simple sequence can get you all the way to 80. Sure, you can get fancy if you get bored, however this alone is more than enough.
I started out using this guideline, however despite it being one of the best rogue leveling systems, it wasn’t working out as I’d planned…
I Was Leveling SOOO Freaking SLOW!
I couldn’t believe it. This was supposed to be an effective rogue leveling guide but by level 15 I was getting bored with how slow I was leveling.
I spoke to a fellow guild mate about this who was one of the top rogues in our guild and he mentioned he used the Team iDemise Leveling Guide, saying it was the best rogue leveling guide to try out.
What Is The Team iDemise Leveling Guide?

This is not actually what you’d think, it’s not a PDF guide but rather an in-game guide which is an add-on that you run within World of Warcraft. Once you set this up, it basically puts a green arrow in front of your character that points you in the direction of what quests you need to pick up, what monsters you need to battle or when you need to head back to town to turn quests in. If you follow the arrow, and do what you’re shown in sequence, you’ll be automatically leveling as fast as possible.
You’ll also find you have a box which shows in writing what quest objectives you need to complete, so you may see:
Kill 5 Bloodspore Harvesters in the Borean Tundra for “Vermin Extermination” at (46,32)
Obtain 10 Tempest Motes from Enraged Tempests for “Motes of the Enraged” at (13,54)
Turn in the “Vermin Extermination” Quest to Scout Tungok
Now this rogue leveling guide worked well for me, however it wasn’t perfect, there were a few issues:
CONS:
- They give you an in-game guide but they also at one time had an HTML version of the guide which I found to be useful as well. Unfortunately they recently took this down.
- I want to see some more videos explaining how to do the difficult quests in the game, also, there needs to be more detailed information when it comes to leveling specific classes.
PROS:
- With version 2 of the Map Mod, all the steps as far as leveling is concerned are laid out visually on the map as well as in written form in the dialogue box.
- A green arrow is placed in front of the character and points you down the optimal path to reach your next quest, or mission objective.
- The guide is not a hack or a cheat so you are safe, you won’t get banned for using it
- You can use this guide for not just your Rogue, but any other character you may want to make
- You’re given lifetime upgrades to the software as well as access to a members only forum where you can talk to others about the program as well as talk strategy.
- You get a 60 day money back guarantee.
Final Thoughts:
If you’re still having trouble leveling a rogue or you just want to save yourself some time and headache, you should definitely give the Team iDemise Leveling Guide a look.
I’ve used this guide to not only level my rogue, but also level 7 other characters. Every time I use the guide, I’m able to get my guys to level 80 anywhere from 7 to 9 days of ingame play-time.
